There was an old temple in Japan. It was hidden in a deep forest on a high and steep cliff for more than 500 years. And there lived 3 monsters.

They always got together on a moon night to play and tell stories,
and dreamed and wondered what is out there in countries far far away.

One day, a great monk who lives in the region told them,
‘Your ancestors lived in the west long time ago,
where a beautiful oasis exists.’

With their native curiosities,
the 3 monsters decide to set out to the west
on the next full-moon night.
